Dear Mr. Rohloff,
This is a letter of request from Fish for Kids Foundation to the City Council requesting to
use e4ke Abe Rochlin Park . ` n Saturday, August 7` to hold its
annual fishing event for kids. Fish for Kids would like to reserve /notify you of the use of
the shelters, open grass areas, and shorelines for fishing.
Last year marked the fifth consecutive year that Fish for Kids has held events to teach
kids about the positive effects of fishing. The events feature stations such as
casting /reeling, minnow races, aquatic invasive species, fish identification, arts and
crafts, knot tying, and fishing from the shoreline. The event culminates with raffle prizes
being awarded to every child!
Fish for Kids has held events in Fond du Lac every year since 2005 and last year
expanded by also holding an event at Abe Rochlin Park on May 30 2009. The Oshkosh
event alone had about 125 kids attend and the 2010 event should be about the same in
size. Oshkosh sponsors from last year included Battle on Bago, Southwest Rotary Club,
Oshkosh Jaycees, 4imprint, Festival Foods, and Valley Graphics, and others.
Please feel free to contact me by phone or email in regards to holding the event again in
Oshkosh. If you would like more information, please visit the Fish for Kid's website at
www.fishforkids.orggy as well. Thank you for your consideration and I look forward
towards hearing back from you!
