UPDATE Staff announced the appointment of James Grine to the Commission. MISSION STATEMENT Harold Buchholz proposed additional language to be added to the official duties of the Commission
as follows; “fostering and perpetuating accurate information, whenever possible, in context with historic dates, references, architectural nomenclature; of persons places or things.”
Discussion ensued on the role of the Commission as opposed to the Museum or Library, the possibility of triggering an Ordinance change that would have to be approved by the Common Council
and on the need for a mission statement. Shirley Mattox suggested that Commissioners read the Ordinance and discuss the matter at the August Commission meeting. Commissioners agreed.
