CITY OF OSHKOSH LANDMARKS COMMISSION MINUTES APRIL13, 2005 COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Harold Buchholz, Todd Clark, Carol Esslinger, Bev Harrington, Shirley Mattox, Dick Rueckl, Arlene Schmuhl
AD HOC MEMBERS PRESENT: None EXCUSED: None STAFF: Susan Kepplinger CALL TO ORDER Chair Harold Buchholz called the meeting to order and a quorum declared present. HISTORIC SURVEY UPDATE
Staff reported that the consultants are doing fieldwork starting this week. SELECTION OF ACANTHUS AWARD WINNERS After discussion the Commission agreed on the following candidates for
consideration; Exterior renovation of first floor façade of 607 South Main (Brooklyn Bar and Grill) The Oshkosh Library Board and Joan Mueller for restoration of the Soldiers Monument
August Tiedje for collecting, preserving and sharing historic images of Oshkosh Dan Radig for collecting, preserving and sharing historic images of Oshkosh Dick Rueckl moved that
each of the candidates receive an Acanthus Award. Carol Esslinger seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. UPDATE 2005 CALENDAR Dick Rueckl distributed the current version of the
calendar and several revisions were proposed. He will revise the calendar accordingly. PLANS FOR PRESERVATION MONTH – MAY Bev Harrington announced final plans for the exhibit of photographs
of the first Taliesin building on loan from the State Historical Society. She also discussed efforts to collect and forward information to the Oshkosh Northwestern on Radford designed
bungalows for publication in May.
OTHER BUSINESSS Staff announced that Jim Grine had resigned from the Commission. ADJOURNMENT There being no further business, Shirley Mattox moved the meeting be adjourned. Dick Rueckl
