CITY OF OSHKOSH LANDMARKS COMMISSION MINUTES NOVEMBER 9, 2005 COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Harold Buchholz, Todd Clark, Carol Esslinger, Bev Harrington, Arlene Schmuhl. AD HOC MEMBERS PRESENT:
None EXCUSED: Dick Rueckl, Shirley Mattox. STAFF: Susan Kepplinger CALL TO ORDER Chair Harold Buchholz called the meeting to order and a quorum was declared present. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Bev Harrington pointed out that Attorney Bush loaned 15 of 17 of the paintings shown at the Art Walk Exhibit. Todd Clark moved approval of the minutes with that correction. Bev Harrington
seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. RIVERSIDE CHAPEL ROOF There was nothing new to report on this. BASHFORD HOUSE UPDATE No one was aware of any developments with this property,
which is still standing. AREA REPORTS There were no area reports. WASHINGTON AVENUE HISTORIC STREET SIGNS No information has been received from residents regarding fundraising efforts
for this project. FALL WAHPC MEETING REPORT Bev Harrington reported that she and Shirley Shirley Mattox had been at the conference on Friday. Preservation awards were presented to the
owner of the Webster Block and to Terry Laib. COMMISSION MEMBERSHIP There is one vacancy.
PLANNING CALENDAR REVIEW Harold Buchholz asked that the nomination deadline for the state endangered building list be put on the agenda as well as the date for completing the 2006 goal
setting process. 2006 GOAL SETTING Commissioners suggested the following activities/goals for 2006; Continue collaboration with the Library and Museum on historic architecturethemed
public events Follow up on completed Intensive Survey Update including informing owners of register-eligible properties, organize public presentation by the consultant, make copies
of report available for sale (paper and digital), post report on Landmarks web page Landmark designation of at least one property Improve/update web page Partner with School
District on historic architectural education (perhaps work with Museum on a kit) Education for Commission members on architectural styles and other appropriate topics Offer architectural
style and National Register information training for realtors Increase public profile of the Commission Educate eligible property owners on Historic Preservation Tax Credits. Commissioners
will finalize 2006 Goals and Projects at the December meeting. ADJOURNMENT Bev Harrington moved the meeting be adjourned. Carol Esslinger seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.
