CITY OF OSHKOSH LANDMARKS COMMISSION MINUTES September 13, 2006 COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Paul Arnold, Harold Buchholz, Carol Esslinger, Bev Harrington, Shirley Mattox, Dick Rueckl AD HOC
MEMBERS PRESENT: None EXCUSED: Todd Clark, Arlene Schmuhl STAFF: Susan Kepplinger CALL TO ORDER Chair Harold Buchholz called the meeting to order and a quorum was declared present. APPROVAL
OF MINUTES Dick Rueckl moved approval of the minutes of the August meeting. Carol Esslinger seconded the motion which passed unanimously. CERTIFIED LOCAL GOVERNMENT (CLG) PROGRAM The
Commission discussed whether to make just the one ordinance change the State Historical Society would require or to also make one or more of the suggested changes. There was also discussion
about referring this matter to a subcommittee. Dick Rueckl moved that the Commission recommend only the ordinance change that would be required by the Historical Society for CLG status.
Carol Esslinger seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Chair Harold Buchholz will collect information from Commissioners regarding the experience/expertise they bring to the
Commission to fulfill that part of the CLG application. RIVERSIDE CHAPEL Todd Clark was unable to attend the meeting but sent the following information regarding the project; the work
on the flat roof has been completed, the tuck-pointing has started and the tile roof work will begin in a couple of weeks. PLANNING CALENDAR REVIEW There was some discussion regarding
updates. Dick Rueckl will follow up. REPORTS OF WORKING COMMITTEES OCAT is working on a draft script for the program on the Survey Update. There were no other reports. AREA REPORTS There
were no area reports. LANDMARKING PROCESS AND POLICIES Commissioners agreed to delay additional landmarking until the ordinance had been revised to meet the CLG requirements.
FUTURE LANDMARKING SCHEDULE The subcommittee will identify possible candidates with the goal of landmarking 3-5 properties in 2007. Timing was discussed and there was consensus that,
if possible, all of the properties would be Landmarked at the same time, during Historic Preservation Month in May. ADJOURNMENT Carol Esslinger moved the meeting be adjourned, Dick Rueckl
