HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes CITY OF OSHKOSH LANDMARKS COMMISSION MINUTES October 11, 2006 COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Paul Arnold, Todd Clark, Bev Harrington, Shirley Mattox, Dick Rueckl, Arlene Schmuhl AD HOC MEMBERS PRESENT: None OTHERS PRESENT: Bethany Warner, Oshkosh Northwestern EXCUSED: Harold Buchholz, Carol Esslinger STAFF: Susan Kepplinger CALL TO ORDER Acting Chair Bev Harrington called the meeting to order and a quorum was declared present. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Paul Arnold moved approval of the minutes of the September meeting. Shirley Mattox seconded the motion which passed unanimously. CERTIFIED LOCAL GOVERNMENT (CLG) PROGRAM Staff reported that the subcommittee had met to begin to work on the actual CLG application. A draft has been developed which includes the biographical information provided to the Chair by Commission members. A request for review of the proposed required ordinance changes will be forwarded to the City Attorneys Office. RIVERSIDE CHAPEL Todd Clark reported that the tile roof work is scheduled to begin any day. The tuck-pointing is nearing completion. The next step for the subcommittee is to develop a plan for projected uses/business plan for the building and the remaining work that would need to be completed to accommodate those uses. PLANNING CALENDAR REVIEW Dick Rueckl will follow up on changes discussed last month. REPORTS OF WORKING COMMITTEES Library Exhibit There has been no progress on this project. There was some discussion regarding an exhibit idea. Survey Update OCAT is working on a draft script for the program on the Survey Update. Staff was directed to provide the Commission with a list of individual properties found eligible for the National Register in the new survey. AREA REPORTS There were no area reports. CLOSURE OF HISTORIC CATHOLIC PARISHES There was a brief discussion regarding the pending decision to close at least two Catholic Parishes and the impact that would have on the historic properties involved.
