CITY OF OSHKOSH LANDMARKS COMMISSION MINUTES DECEMBER 12, 2007 COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Paul Arnold, Harold Buchholz, Todd Clark, Bev Harrington, Shirley Mattox, Arlene Schmuhl, Burk Tower
AD HOC MEMBERS PRESENT: none EXCUSED: None STAFF: Susan Kepplinger OTHERS PRESENT: Trent Margrif, National Trust Midwest Office CALL TO ORDER Chair Harold Buchholz called the meeting
to order and a quorum was declared present. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Burk Tower moved approval of the November meeting minutes. Paul Arnold seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.
COMMISSION MEMBERSHIP There is now one vacant position on the Commission due to the recent death of Carol Esslinger. Commissioners will discuss replacement recommendations at the January
meeting. 2008 GOALS Harold Buchholz distributed a list of the 2007 goals and accomplishments, potential 2008 goals and goals which have been previously discussed but not adopted. He
asked that Commission members review this prior to the January meeting when the 2008 goals will be finalized. RIVERSIDE CEMETERY SUBCOMMITTEE REPORT Shirley Mattox reported that she
had investigated what was called the Sissons Garden on three adjacent plots in the Cemetery. According to Cemetery staff there is some record of the garden, which was apparently dedicated
to mothers and was planted with several hundred peonies. The three plots are still in that name, but no flowers remain. LOCAL LANDMARK Shirley Mattox reported that she is working on
research for Landmarking of the Gates House at 404 W. New York. E NEWSLETTER There was nothing new to report on this item. CLG GRANT APPLICATION UPDATE Staff has received no information
regarding the status of the application.
PLANNING CALENDAR REVIEW There was nothing to act on regarding this matter. AGENDA ITEMS FOR JANUARY MEETING Staff was directed to add finalize 2008 goals to the December agenda. ADJOURNMENT
