Present:Allyn Dannhoff, Phil Baeten Pete LeCompte, Keith Decker, Tom Karrels, Cal Watters, Kevin Benner, Adam Krause, Brian Noe, Sandra Weitz Absent:John Hazelberg, Bill Warren REVIEW MINUTES OF October 4, 2006 The minutes were approved. FALL NEWSLETTER TOPICS Discussion on the newsletter consisted of, having good articles and illustrations. Also make sure it is being sent to the designers as well. POLICY/PROCEDURE AMENDMENTS – REVIEW The fee for a Temporary Occupancy Permit is as follows, $50.00 a month with a $100.00 minimum. You may re-apply for the Temporary Occupancy as many times as you need to, not to exceed the time of the permit. Allyn will let Jackson Kinney know that there are no concerns with the proposed amendments and our office will let you know via e-mail when the proposed changes have been made. ELECTRICAL MAINTENANCE LICENSE AND PERMIT PROGRAM Kevin is looking for ways to get the industries in the area to comply. Discussion on ways to bring the industries in the area up to date with having proper licensed staff doing electrical work and or hiring licensed contractors to take out permits to do the work. Suggestion was to send out a packet to remind them of the codes and requirements. DISCUSS/REVIEW ISSUES/CONCERNS COMMITTEE MEMBERS ARE AWARE OF Cal Watters brought up the credentials. Make sure that the inspectors are carding the contractors to make sure they are up to date with their continuing education so credentials are current. Pete LeCompte brought up Lowes Home Improvements and when they are coming to Oshkosh. Allyn stated he had heard that they did not want to open until the new road is complete, but advised to check with Planning for more information. -1- Phil Baeten brought up the new contractor continuing education certification issues that are on the State of Wisconsin website. Allyn believes that will be effective in 2008. Tom Karrels brought up why complete sets of calcs are required for remodeling. Tom discussed a current project he is working on. Allyn suggests calling the inspector and discussing with them the issues at hand first. TOPICS SUGGESTED FOR THE NEXT MEETING Allyn brought up the efforts to possibly change the fee schedule to base it on something other that a value basis. ADJOURN Meeting adjourned at 3:02 pm. -2-
