Fall Newsletter

the web site. He asked them to e-mail him if they had any comments or suggestions for future articles.
Division Handbook Policy-Procedure Additions
th
Allyn handed out the Additions to the Division Handbook at the August 13 meeting but had little time to
discuss the added policies. Briefly touched on added policies and procedures. Made special mention about
Projects being closed without Occupancy Permits being issued because contractors are failing to call for final
inspections.
Meeting Schedule for 2009
st
Allyn suggested meeting dates of January 7, April 1, July 1 and October 7 for 2009. These dates are the 1
Wednesday of each quarter. He asked members to let him know a few weeks in advance if a meeting date was
going to be a problem. Allyn also advised he will try to send a reminder of upcoming meetings a couple weeks
prior to each of the scheduled meetings.
Review upcoming Committee Member Appointments
Allyn asked the members to keep in mind names of contractors they think would be willing to be a Member of
the Advisory Committee, as there are 4 Members who’s term expires 12/31/08.
Discuss/review issues/concerns committee members are aware of
Allyn stated that there has been no decision yet on fee increases or when they will be implemented. He advised
that any decision to go forth with fee increases would be based on first meeting with and getting direction from
the City Manager. The plumbing fee schedule seems to be of some concern to the members. Some feel there
should not be a permit requirement to replace plumbing fixtures. Allyn took this under advisement and advised
that prior to eliminating this fee, an analysis of how much revenue is obtained from such permits must first be
figured to determine how to replace these fees with other permit fees.
Allyn handed out some information from regarding the State Electrical Licensing changes from the Division of
Safety & Buildings.
Members inquired about being able to submit short articles to the newspaper as a way to inform the public
about various city codes.
Suggestions for future meetings
– Next meeting scheduled for January 7, 2009. Allyn asked members to e-
mail him with topics for discussion at the next meeting.
Meeting adjourned at 3:00 pm
Respectfully Submitted,
Ann Stephenson
