O.f'HKOIH ON THE WATER MEMORANDUM TO: Mark A. Rohloff, City Manager FROM: Christopher Strong, Transportation Director DATE: February 17, 2010 RE: Explanation of Traffic Regulations Ordinance Changes SEC TION 1: SECTION 27- 23(A -5) LOA DING ZO NES A REQUEST TO REMOVE LOADING ZONE DESIGNATIONS ON ALGOMA BOULEVARD IN FRONT OF LINCOLN SCHOOL. This is a Transportation Department request. With last year's closure of Lincoln School, it makes sense to eliminate two loading zones defined in the municipal code which related to the transport of students to and from the school. These loading zones are: • A bus loading zone on the school size of the circle drive (off of Algoma Boulevard) in front of the building A passenger loading zone on the north side of Algoma Boulevard from Wisconsin Street • to Elmwood Avenue Without the loading zones, parking will be restricted on both sides of Algoma Boulevard, in accordance with current ordinance language. PASSED BY TRAFFIC REVIEW BOARD (5 -0).
