Box 1130 Oshkosh, 54902-1130 Wisconsin 54 City of Oshkosh °I4 902 -113 WHICU ON THE WATER 5/12/97 DEBBIE MATERNA 1028 WINDSOR ST OSHKOSH WI 54901 Re: Concrete driveway Dear Ms. Materna: During my brief inspection of the concrete driveway it appears that the concrete was poured underneath a portion of the brick veneer that projects approximately 2 inches off the side of the house into the driveway. It is my opinion that the frost action underneath the driveway pushed the brick veneer up and subsequently caused it to pull away from the house. The brick veneer has been installed similarly on both sides of the house, so if you look on the left side of the house you will notice that the brick projects approximately 2 inches towards the left property line as is the case on the right side of the house where the brick veneer projects towards the right property line. The driveway was poured adjacent to the foundation wall and underneath and touching the brick veneer thus causing the problem when frost caused the ground to expand and lift the driveway.
