IMPORTANT: Use of factory skirts requires the unit to be directly on the subfloor. The subfloor MUST be the same height as the finished floor. If this is not done, the result will be unnecessary trimming or possibly a skirt that will not fit. Swirl -way will not be financially responsible for either. After the installer has decided the exact measurement the panel or skirt should be trimmed, follow procedures listed below. TOOLS NEEDED FOR TRIMMING SKIRT: 7 1/4" Circular Saw 7" Abrasive Coated Blade (diamond coated preferred) Framing Square Tape Measure #2 Pencil Caution: Do not use permanent marker on skirt or panel. 1. Mark off evenly on both ends the amount of skirt not needed. 2. Always add approximately 1/8" to total measurement. 3. When marking line to be trimmed, be sure that the line is 90 degrees square with the top horizontal detail line of skirt. 4. Secure skirt on table or get someone to hold the skirt or panel firmly so it does not move. 5. Slowly remove skirt area not needed. 6. Dress rough edges or chipped acrylic using a beltsander, angle grinder or sanding block. (60 grit paper recommended) *Remember it is always better to allow for mistakes. Mark off extra and sand back to exact lines. 1. Line out all necessary parts and tools needed: TOOLS NEEDED FOR INSTALLING SKIRT: (7) #10 1 1/2" flathead screws included with skirt) Electric or pneumatic drill 1/8" drill bit Phillips head screwdriver 2. Position skirt under the bath lip. Be sure detail breaks on the skirt and bath are aligned. After aligning the skirt, drill a 1/8" pilot hole through ABS base (holes through the skirt should be pre drilled from factory if skirt is ordered with bath). Secure skirt to the tub with supplied #10 screws. 3. Align provided toe piece with bottom of skirt and secure with velcro strips (illustration C). Toe piece will cover exposed portion of screws. A. All whirlpools must be connected to a circuit that is protected by a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter. We recommend the GFCI be located at the main breaker panel. DO NOT LOCATE THE GFCI UNDER THE WHIRLPOOL. 2. All whirlpools come with a double insulated motor and a pre -wired cord and (two prong) plug. No ground wire is required in the plug because the motor is double insulated. However, the power supply must be GFCI. 3. Inline heater using an Air Switch on /off switch. See diagram 1 -A. Requires a separate 120 volt, 15 amp GFCI circuit. 4. Inline heater using a Timer on /off switch. See diagram 1 B. Requires a separate 120 volt, 15 amp GFCI circuit.
