Introduction s the result of a citizen complaint, it has come to the City's attention that the exterior lighting at your home is in violation of
'the City's exterior lighting standards, in regard to spill off of light and lighting element visibility. The light fixture in question is
located on the front of the home, illuminating a flag pole in the front yard area.

Description In no instance shall an exterior lighting fixture be oriented so that the lighting element (or transparent shield) is visible from an
adjacent property or street right -of -way. The use of shielded luminaries and careful fixture placement is encouraged.

Summary
In order to obtain compliance, the flood lights must be turned off. If you wish to illuminate the flag, re- orient to keep light ora
site, versus casting light off site. The lighting elements must be screened or shield, not to be visible from neighbors.Failure to
comply or any future noncompliance may result in the issuance of municipal citations for violations of the City Municipal code.
If you have any questions in regard to this notice, please contact our office within the next 5 days.
Deficiencies must be corrected and approved prior to concealment. Office hours for obtaining permits are Monday through
Friday 7:30 -8:30 a.m. and 12:30 -1:30 p.m. or by appointment. To schedule inspections please call the Inspection Request line
at 236 -5128 noting the address, permit number (when applicable), and the nature of what needs to be inspected.
