Dear Paul:
Per your request a final building inspection was made at 1520
Wilson Avenue on September 15, 1994. The following items were
found to be in noncompliance:
1) Per ILHR 21.08, all heating and ventilating ducts which
terminate in or pierce the required fire separation shall be
protected by a 1 1 \2 -hour rated fire damper. The damper may be
omitted where there is 6 feet of continuous steel ductwork to the
air handling device on either side of the assembly or in metal
ducts that do not exceed a maximum area of 20 square inches. The
installation of heating ducts into the garage also creates a
problem in complying with the energy conservation code since the
garage is not fully insulated. Please contact me if you have any
further questions in this matter.
All above items must be corrected, and final inspection called
for within 30 days of this notice in order to secure the
certificate of occupancy. Please call 236 -5051 if you have any
further questions in this matter.
