FOR ONE UTILITY TRACTOR W /CAB AND HYDRAULICS FOR PARKS DEPARTMENT ($39,630.57) INITIATED BY: PURCHASING DIVISION WHEREAS, the City of Oshkosh has heretofore advertised for bids for one utility tractor with cab and hydraulics for the Parks Department; and WHEREAS, upon the opening and tabulation of bids, it appears that the following is the most advantageous bid: RIESTERER & SCHNELL INC. 1775 American Drive Neenah, WI 54956 Net bid with trade and -ons - 2009 John Deere 4720 $39,630.57 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Oshkosh that the said bid is hereby accepted and the proper City officials are hereby authorized and directed to enter into an appropriate agreement for the purpose of same, all according to plans, specifications, and bid on file. Box 1130 osnk °s $49� °130 City of Oshkosh O rHKQIH TO: Honorable Mayor and Members of the Common Council FROM: Jon Urben, General Services Director DATE: August 12, 2009 RE: Parks Department Utility Tractor BACKGROUND The Parks Department is in need of replacing their 1981 Kubota utility tractor. The mowing deck of this tractor requires regular repairs and it is hard to secure replacement parts. A new utility tractor will be more versatile for Park operations and require less maintenance. ANALYSTS Working in conjunction with the Street Division, Purchasing reviewed and prepared proposals seeking vendors for this tractor replacement. Bid requests were sent to vendors who have received invitations to bids in previous years. In addition the bids were advertised in the local paper and posted online on NovusVendor. Bids were received on July 23, 2009. The bid tabulation is attached. Working with the Street Division, Purchasing reviewed the bids and concluded the low bid from Riesterer & Schnell, Inc. met the bid specifications. FISCAL EWPACT This tractor will have a fiscal impact of $39,630.57 (net bid with trade + add -ons). This item was budgeted in the 2009 CIP major equipment replacement at $40,000. Funding for this item would be charged to the Parks Department CIP account: 323 - 0610 - 7204 - 06906. RECOMMENDATION Purchasing recommends $39,630.57.
