HomeMy WebLinkAbout09-330AUGUST 25, 2009 09 -330 RESOLUTION (CARRIED 7 -0 LOST LAID OVER WITHDRAWN ) PURPOSE: AWARD BID TO BOB FISH PONTIAC BUICK GMC FOR COMPACT 4WD PICKUP TRUCK W /6' BED FOR SANITATION DIVISION ($19,842.00) INITIATED BY: PURCHASING DIVISION WHEREAS, the City of Oshkosh has heretofore advertised forbids for one compact 4WD pickup truck w /6' bed for Sanitation Division; and WHEREAS, upon the opening and tabulation of bids, it appears that the following is the most advantageous bid: BOB FISH PONTIAC BUICK GMC 2275 S MAIN ST. WEST BEND, WI 53095 Total bid w /trade and add -ons — 2009 GMC Canyon $19,842.00 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Oshkosh that the said bid is hereby accepted and the proper City officials are hereby authorized and directed to enter into an appropriate agreement for the purpose of same, all according to plans, specifications, and bid on file. Box 1130 Oshkosh, Wisconsin 54943 -1130 city of Oshkosh 0 — QfHKQIH TO: Honorable Mayor and Members'of the Common Council FROM: Jon Urben, General Services Director DATE: August 12, 2009 RE: Sanitation Compact Pickup Truck BACKGROUND The Sanitation Division would like to replace their 1992 GMC Sonoma pickup truck. This truck has 81,000 miles and has become less reliable and requires costly regular maintenance. A new compact pickup truck will be more fuel efficient and require less maintenance. ANALYSIS Working in conjunction with the Street Division, Purchasing reviewed and prepared proposals seeking vendors for this truck replacement Bid requests were sent to vendors who have received invitations to bids in previous years. In addition the bids were advertised in the local paper and posted online on NovusVendor. Bids were received on July 22, 2009. The bid tabulation is attached. Working with the Street Division, Purchasing reviewed the bids and concluded the low bid from Bob Fish Pontiac Buick GMC met the bid specifications. FISCAL EMPACT This truck will have a fiscal impact of $19,842 (net truck bid with trade + add -ons). This item was budgeted in the 2009 CIP major equipment replacement at $20,000. Funding for this item would be charged to the Street Division CIP account: 323 -0470- 7204 - 06918. RECOMMENDATION Purchasing recommends the Common Council award the bid to Bob Fish Pontiac Buick GMC for $19,842.
