DILHR Material Approval No. 960077 -0 Page 2 DESCRIPTION AND USE The Betterliving® Patio Room Enclosure System comes in two basic models, the "A -Frame Room" and the "Studio Room The "A -Frame Room" roof construction features a structurally designed ridge beam of extruded aluminum alloy. The "Studio Room" features a pitched roof with a minimum slope of one inch to twelve. The high side of the roof is fastened to the existing structure by means of an extruded aluminum alloy section. The Betterliving® Patio Room Enclosure System can be erected on a concrete slab, a wood deck, or as a raised balcony. This approval is not for a specific building, but rather an approval of the enclosure system design concept. Each patio enclosure system shall have a permanently affixed identification tag stating the name and address of the manufacturer. The Betterliving® Patio Room Enclosure System two basic models, the "A -Frame Room" and the "Studio Room" may be installed on a concrete slab, a wooden deck or a balcony. However, all pertinent footing, foundation, structural requirements, and all modifications to an existing or new deck or balcony shall be detailed, fire separations, living unit separation, etc., plans must be submitted for review in accordance with the Wisconsin Administrative Dwelling Code, chapter ILHR 20 -25. This approval does not include HVAC. Energy requirements. nor electrical components. The approval permits plan submittal without repetitious framing calculations. This approval is for uniform loading conditions only. Any special concentrated loading or drift loading condition required by s. ILHR 21.02 is not included under this approval number and requires complete structural calculations. In accordance with s. ILHR 21.11(1), (1) (a) and (d) of the Uniform Dwelling Code, a thermal barrier shall be installed with foam panels. No thermal barrier is required with honeycomb panels. This approval will be valid through December 31, 2001, unless manufacturing modifications are made to the product or a re- examination is deemed necessary by the department. The Wisconsin Material Approval Number must be provided when plans that include this product are submitted for review. DISCLAIMER The department is in no way endorsing or advertising this product. Work was performed under the supervision of an independent engineering laboratory. Span tables in this package show the allowable roof loads. 11 -4 FIRE RATINGS Honeycomb and Polystyrene panels were tested for fire resistance by an independent testing laboratory. Based on the test results, the panels are classified as Type 5B construction materials. 11 -5 WARRANTY Properly installed products are warranted by the manufacturer.
