Meeting called to order by Chairman Corky Abraham at 800am
CORRESPONDENCE: None
COMMITTEE REPORTS:
CWAG is having there 32 Annual Convention Changing Face of Aging
in Green Bay July 23 -24. Anne Jungwirth, Dr Jean Caudle and Mark
Ziemer will be attending.
Vote was taken on changing the agenda, Directors report will come
after the committee reports. Peggy Bellin made the motion, seconded by
Claude Bennedict.
Three awards were presented in front of the council on June 9, 2009.
Suggestion of have speakers attend the meetings.
DIRECTORS REPORT:
Oshkosh Vision did not have anything on Senior Center and people who
attended did not get a chance to speak up about it, and what we have to
offer.
Hired Cindy Glatz to fulfill the donation given by Dr Jean Caudle.
City has new WOW concept. Being more customers friendly.
The city will clean out the large building. The large building was great
for car fit.
The volunteer banquet was a great success. Ladies benevolent fund
gave us a donation to purchase a new flex machine.
Get the community high on the elderly; celebrate life so it embraces the
whole community.
Winnebago County and City of Oshkosh need to develop priorities for
health departments. CHIPS Program
There are foundations in our state that give out grants for study of
challenges for the elderly.
Still working with FVTC and UWO to identify contacts.
Community garden project for next year.
Mark did walk through of convention center. Need to plan for core
sponsors, health screening, meals and break out rooms.
ADJOURNMENT:
Motion made by Jesse Fillmore to adjourn and to have no meeting in the
month of July. Second by Claude Bennedict
Have a focus group before the meeting.
