The Director of Community Development, or designee, must approve all plans, except the
following: (1) Alterations or interior work when the use is conforming and when no change
in use is proposed. (2) Maintenance items; e.g. siding, windows, etc., when the use is
conforming and when no change is proposed.
Instances where work complies with the above criteria, the permit can be reviewed by the
Building Inspector without referral to the Director of Community Development, or designee.

Dear Mr. Reimer:
Enclosed is a preliminary plan for a greenhouse on my property at
2163 W. Ninth Ave. I stopped at City Hall on December 26th, but it
was closed. I am scheduled to work every weekday for the next two
months.
I spoke to planning and zoning by phone and they indicated that an
auxiliary building to a primary building could be built at less than
40% of the primary building. I want a greenhouse to blend in with
the landscape.
The upper left of the plan has a plot drawing of the lot. I am
interested in code compliance before further talks with the
greenhouse company. There would be two vents of 3' X 12' on the
east side. The floor of the greenhouse would be gravel.
Polycarbonate (lexan) is 16 times stronger than glass and
withstands wind load well.
The anchors will be either 6" X 6" wood post or metal post with a
fastener for a 4" X 4" post.
