HomeMy WebLinkAbout1987- Memo (uncompleted work) M E M O R A N D U M
TO: JACKSON KINNEY, DIRECTOR, COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
FROM: ED REIMER, CHIEF BUILDING INSPECTOR
DATE: MARCH 13, 1987
SUBJECT: UNCOMPLETED BUILDING WORK AT 1825 SOUTH MAIN STREET
In October of 1985, Building and Moving Permits were issued for
a house to be moved to 1825 South Main St. The property is
owned by Silas Anderson, 1039 Grove St. The Building Permit
was for foundation work at 1825 South Main St.
The foundation work has not been completed and work has apparently
ceased for some time. The uncompleted basement contains ice over
the floor area. It is open to entry from all four sides of the
building. The Building Permit expired on October 28, 1986. On
October 20, 1986 notice was issued to Silas Anderson advising
him that the excavation must be either capped or fenced as required
under Section 7 -18 of the City Building Code. He was also advised
that the Building Permit needed renewal in order for the building
project to be completed. Mr. Anderson would not claim the certified
mail notification.
Attached are copies of the permit and violation /correction notice.
I feel this property creates an attractive nuisance. Please advise
what action should be taken
