Our Dragon Boat Festival has been a successfully event for the last couple years and is a great weekend for the city of Oshkosh. Each year we consider how we can improve this event and we believe that we have some great ideas again for this year that promote wellness. Last year we ran our first ever 1 mile family fun run on the Leach Amphitheatre grounds. We had great feedback about having this running event and would like to take this a step further. This year we would like to attract even more community members to our festival by holding a 5k Fun Run. We would like to start and end the run on the grounds of Dragon Boat Festival. We feel this will attract even more people to our event. The 5K route that we are considering is much like the route that Irish Fest used for their 5K event. The 5k would be held on Saturday, September 26 at approximately 9am. Please feel free to contact me at the YMCA at 920 - 236 -3406 ext. 390 with any additional questions.
