HomeMy WebLinkAboutLetter (sewer gas) - 05/18/1982 Cr* OI/N[OIN May 18, 1982 Hazel Diedrich 334 Saratoga Ave. Oshkosh, WI 54901 Dear Ms. Diedrich: During the smoke testing of the city sanitary sewer mains in your area on May 13, 1982 as described in the handbill delivered to you address on May 12, 1982 the following inadequacies in your plumbing system were the reasons smoke appeared in your basement: 1. Broken or open building drain located under basement floor. Smoke appeared at many cracks and openings through the floor. Sewer gases could enter your building through the same route taken by the smoke. Sewer gases can be very hazaradous. I recommend that you or your plumber repair the above as soon as possible. A Plumbing Permit and inspection are required by City Ordinance for any repairs to a buildings plumbing system. If a permit has not been taken out by May 31, 1982 I will reinspect your home to determine status for any further action on the part of the city. If you have any questions concerning this letter please call me at City Hall 424 -0377. My normal office hours are 8 -9 a.m. and 1 -2 p.m. Respectfully, R CHARD WOOD Plumbing Inspector RW:mr P. O.
