This letter is to request your approval of use of Opera House Square and city streets on Saturday, October 17, 2009. The race route will begin at Opera House Square, north on Algoma Blvd. to Vine Street, Vine Street to High Avenue, and High Avenue back to Opera House Square. We would like Market Street between High Avenue and Algoma Blvd. to be closed. The race will begin at 9:00 a.m. and will be a total distance of 3.2 miles or 5 kilometers. The above mentioned streets on our route will only be in use for the race for approximately 45 minutes to one hour after the race begins. Entertainment will also be } provided for the community and our participants after the race. Being titled "Zeta Tau Alpha Think Pink 5K Run/Walk/Roll ", our goal is to raise $5,000 to be donated toward our national foundation for Breast Cancer Education and Awareness. We would like to continue this annual event in the future to raise awareness and money for such a worthy cause. I look forward to working with the City of Oshkosh and hosting a meaningful event that will increase the awareness of breast cancer and how it affects the millions of people who have been touched by it in one way or another.
