MEMORANDUM
TO: Honorable Mayor and Members of the Common Council
FROM: Steven M. Gohde, Assistant Director of Public Works
DATE: June 5, 2009
RE: Initial Resolution / Concrete Drive Aprons / Fernau Court
BACKGROUND
This resolution is the initial resolution for allowing the City to assess abutting property owners for
improvements completed by the City. Fernau Court is in the Northwest Industrial park and is scheduled
for paving this year.
Property owners in the Industrial Park are not assessed for paving, the cost is figured in the lot prices.
Each property is assessed for the apron(s) needed to serve the development.
ANALYSIS
The resolution allows City Staff to proceed with preparing assessments for the abutting properties. A
public hearing and final resolution need to be approved by the Council prior the assessments being levied
on the properties.
FISCAL IMPACT
The entire cost of the aprons will be assessed to the owners. There is no fiscal impact to the City.
RECOMMENDATIONS
I recommend approval of the initial resolution.
Respectfully Submitted,
Steven M. Gohde
Asst. Director of Public Works
