HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutesCITY OF OSHKOSH LANDMARKS COMMISSION MINUTES March 11, 2009 COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Paul Arnold, Polly Briley, Grady Bullington, Todd Clark, Arlene Schmuhl, Burk Tower AD HOC MEMBERS PRESENT: none EXCUSED: Shirley Mattox, Harold Buchholz STAFF: Susan Kepplinger OTHERS PRESENT: none CALL TO ORDER Chair Todd Clark called the meeting to order and a quorum was declared present. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Arlene Schmuhl moved approval of the February 11 minutes with the following corrections; Burk Tower was present and Grady Bullington was not. Burk Tower seconded the motion which passed unanimously. ACANTHUS AWARDS Following discussion, Commissioners narrowed the list of possible recipients to; First Congregational Church for roof repairs; restoration of the carriage house at 324 Fulton; revitalization of The Waters, the Wall House and the Oshkosh Community for support and accommodation of the filming of Public Enemies. The final decision will be made in April. RIVERSIDE CEMETERY SUBCOMMITTEE Todd Clark reported that the subcommittee had met with Bill Sturm. Bill is experimenting with a sample copy of the cemetery management software the Commission had found and IT endorsed. He will be requesting a proposal for the software with any modifications needed for this application, data entry and mapping. LOCAL LANDMARK PROSPECTS The following William Waters designed buildings were identified for possible landmarking the Frontenac, the Brooklyn Fire Station and 324 Fulton. E NEWSLETTER There was discussion regarding possible future topics. PLANNING CALENDAR REVIEW Arlene Schmuhl distributed an updated calendar. AGENDA ITEMS FOR APRIL MEETING Review and upgrade of the web site. ADJOURNMENT Polly Briley moved the meeting be adjourned. Paul Arnold seconded the motion which passed unanimously.
