In a nutshell, here is what you have to do. First, you need to submit a plan noting the expanded
driveway area and materials used (blacktop/concrete) to zoning. There are regulations regarding
setbacks and materials. (I.E. you can't just start throwing down gravel wherever you want and call it
parking or pave your entire back yard so you don't have to cut the grass). Once that plan has zoning
approval you would need a permit for the construction of the expanded driveway. What I am trying to
do is help you avoid putting time and effort into something when, at the end of the day, it may prove to
be not approved and therefore would be required to be removed. If you have any zoning
questions you can contact David Buck at 236-5062.
Are you telling me that Gravel is not allowed for a driveway in the city of Oshkosh?
Your assertion that I would pave my yard is way off base.
This expiation will not involve setbacks.
If I can't afford to pave then what?
As far as this being a personal attack, let me assure you, 1 am not in the habit of giving nearly 3
months for someone to clean up the yard and not park on the grass. I would imagine that I have
nearly 250+ files of properties which have Correction Notices on them. They all have due dates and if
the property owner doesn't keep me updated as to the progress of the corrections or submit an
agreeable schedule, then I have to do a follow up. If that follow up doesn't result in the property being
brought into compliance, then I write a citation, which thankfully most people chose to take care of the
problems. Basically it boils down to, if you're found to be in violation -you're in violation. I hope that
this explains the process better for you. I'd be more than happy to sit down with you to discuss these
matters further, if you wish.
Why is it the cities issue if I pull my truck that 1 use daily on MY grass to allow my wife to drive the van?
My boats and flat trailer have been here for ten years or longer. Why now? was not an issue before?
If there are any properties you would like me to check for you, feel free to leave me the addresses and
the problems found at them.
There are many maybe you should do a little foot work. Including city priorities.

Re: Correction Notices for 613 W 9"' Ave. and 1053 Adams Ave.
Mr. and Mrs. Lenz,
August 15, 2006
I am writing this letter to see if we can come up with an acceptable schedule of
repairs/corrections at the two above-mentioned addresses. First of all, I am sorry to hear
of the loss to your family. I certainly wouldn't expect you to focus your energies
elswhere during that difficult time. I have put the two Correction Notices on the back
burner as long as possible, however, I have received additional complaints and would not
be doing my job if I neglected to follow up on these outstanding matters.
I took a drive by both properties on 8/14/06 to see how they were looking. There is a
grass/weed problem at 613 W 9th which I have received several complaints on. I am
sending out a Correction Notice for this. Also, there are repairs that still need to be
addressed (covered in the original Correction Notice). At 1053 Adams Ave. there are
still parking and junk/debris issues.
The compliance date for 613 9th was originally 4/26/06 and was extended to 5/26/06.
The compliance date for Adams Ave. was originally 5/23/06. We are nearly 3 months
past both of these compliance dates and I have received no contact from you recently. I
realize these issues are an inconvenience but they must be taken care of. You have my e-
mail address as well as my phone number and I would appreciate you contacting me so
we can put these required corrections behind us.
Please make sure to contact me during my office hours 7:30 - 8:30 am and 12:30 - 1:30
pm Monday -Friday at 236-5137, or if you wish, send a letter or a-mail.
Thank you for your attention to these matters.
Sincerely,
Andrew Prickett
Property Maintenance Inspector
