HomeMy WebLinkAbout08-478DECEMBER 9, 2008 08 -478 RESOLUTION (CARRIED LOST LAID OVER WITHDRAWN ) PURPOSE: AWARD BID FOR FURNITURE FOR THE OSHKOSH CONVENTION CENTER INITIATED BY: PURCHASING DIVISION WHEREAS, the City of Oshkosh has heretofore advertised forbids for chairs, dance floor, skirting and tray stands for the Oshkosh Convention Center; and WHEREAS, upon the opening and tabulation of bids, it appears that the following are the most advantageous bids: BOELTER CO. 833 Evans Street Oshkosh, WI 54904 Chairs (1000) $47,000.00 Dance Floor (Qty. 2 — 4 Carts) $23,462.00 Tray Stands $ 645.00 Total Bid: $71,107.00 CORPORATE EXPRESS 3111 A Market Street Green Bay, WI 54304 Skirting / Clips / Hangers Mobile Caddys $ 4,292.80 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Oshkosh that the said bid is hereby accepted and the proper City officials are hereby authorized and directed to enter into an appropriate agreement for the purpose of same, all according to plans, specifications, and bid on file. Box 1130 Oshkosh, Wisconsin 54903 -1130 City of Oshkosh - OfHKOfH TO: Honorable Mayor and Members of the Common Council FROM: Holly A Magrady, Senior Buyer, Purchasing Department DATE: December 2, 2008 RE: Convention Center Furniture BACKGROUND The Convention Center is now nearing completion of the remodeling project. As part of the remodeling process, furniture for the Center was in need of replacement. ANALYSIS Inventory and inspection was taken of the furniture. After inspection of the furniture, bids were prepared for replacement. Bids were received on December 1, 2008. FISCAL IMPACT The furniture is part of the 2009 CIP property improvements. RECOMMENDATION Purchasing reviewed all bids and is recommending the City Council award bids as follows: Boelter Co. chairs, dance floor and tray stands $71,107.00, and Corporate Express, skirting $4,292.80. The furniture is expected to arrive mid - January in anticipation of the opening of the Center in February. Respectfully S 1 Approved: City Manager c
