The submittal has been CONDITIONALLY APPROVED. The owner, as defined in Chapter 101.01(10), Wisconsin Statutes, is responsible for compliance with all code requirements Key Item(s) /Conditions: • IBC 711.3 Any penetrations of fire rated assemblies are required to be protected with a listed firestopping system that matches the rating of the wall assembly being penetrated. Copies of the firestopping systems are required to be provided at the time of inspection. Unable to determine from plans if any rated assemblies or membranes exist in this structure -field inspection may reveal rated construction. • IMC 302.1 The building or structure shall not be weakened by the installation of mechanical systems. Verify that existing structure is capable of supporting the additional weight of the proposed equipment being placed in the attic and on the roof.. • IMC 304.1 Equipment and appliances shall be installed as required by the terms of their approval, in accordance with the conditions of the listing, the manufacture's instructions and this code. Verify that equipment installed in attic is approved for installation in attic by manufactures • 304.8 Clearances from grade. Equipment and appliances installed at grade level shall be supported on a level concrete slab or other approved material extending above adjoining grade or shall be suspended a minimum of 6 inches (152 mm) above adjoining grade. A lighting fixture controlled by a switch located at the required passageway opening and a receptacle outlet shall be provided at or near the appliance location in accordance with the ICC Electrical Code. Per August 11 ~` letter from Tim Weitz of Gartman Mechanical these requirements will be met • IMC 306.3 Appliances in attics. Attics containing appliances requiring access shall be provided with an opening and unobstructed passageway large enough to allow removal of the largest appliance. The passageway shall not be less than 30 inches (762 mm) high and 22 inches (559 mm) wide and not more than 20 feet (6096 mm) in length measured along the centerline of the passageway from the opening to the appliance. The passageway shall have continuous solid flooring not less than 24 inches (610 mm) wide. A level service space not less than 30 inches (762 mm) deep and 30 inches (762 mm) wide shall be present at the front or service side of the appliance. The cleaz access opening dimensions shall be a minimum of 20 inches by 30 inches (508 mm by 762 mm), where such dimensions aze large enough to allow removal of the largest appliance. Per August Ili letter from Tim Weitz of Gartman Mechanical these requirements will be met • IMC 306.5 Equipment and appliances on roofs or elevated structures. Where equipment and appliances requiring access aze installed on roofs or elevated structures at a height exceeding 16 feet (4877 mm), such access shall be provided by a permanent approved means of access, the extent of which shall be from grade or floor level to the equipment and appliances' level service space. Such access shall not require climbing over obstructions greater than 30 inches (762 mm) high or walking on roofs having a slope greater than 4 units vertical in 12 units horizontal (33-percent slope). Per contractor the equipment on the roof is accessible from a roof hatch verify opening is 20" x 30"clear opening. • IMC 307.1 Liquid combustion by-products of condensing appliances shall be collected and dischazged to an approved plumbing fixture or disposal area. Verify proper disposal of condensate from attic furnace. • 401.5.2 Exhaust openings. Outside exhaust openings shall be located so as not to create a nuisance. Exhaust air shall not be directed onto walkways. • IFGC 401 /Comet 65.0400 All gas piping and gas piping installations shall comply with NFPA 54, National Fuel Gas Code. • Comm 61.31(4) Revisions to approved plans. All proposed revisions and modifications which involve rules under this code and which aze made to construction documents that have previously been granted approval by the department or its authorized representative, shall be submitted to the office that granted the approval. All revisions and modifications to plans shall be approved in writing by the department or its authorized representative prior to the work involved in the revision or modification being carried out. A revision or modification to a plan, drawing or specification shall be signed and sealed in accordance with Comm 61.31(1). ~ Comm 61.50 (4) Supervision. Prior to the initial occupancy of an alteration the supervising professional shall file a compliance statement form SBD-9720 with this office. SUBMIT: • MUN 30-35 (n(5) All roof top and ground level mechanical equipment and utilities shall be fully screened from view of any street or residential zoning district. Contact David Buck in the Planning Department (920) 236-5058 for additional information on screening requirements. All screening shall be properly anchored in place to resist wind loads. NOTE: No HVAC Hermit can be issued without an approved screening plan. • IECC 503.3.3.7 [Comm 63.0503(2)(f)] Balancing and documentation of the HVAC system shall conform to the IMC. Balancing report required to be submitted prior to final occupancy being allowed. • Comm 61.50 (4) Supervision. Prior to the initial occupancy of an alteration the supervising professional shall file a compliance statement form SBD-9720 with this office. All permits are required to be obtained prior to commencement of work. In granting this approval the City of Oshkosh Inspection Services Department reserves the right to require changes or additions should conditions arise making them necessary for code compliance. As per state stats 101.12(2), nothing in this review shall relieve the designer of the responsibility for designing a safe building, structure, or component.
