Re: On-street employee parking on Graceland Drive & Cumberland Trail
To Whom It May Concern:
JACKSON R. KINNEY
Director
The city has continued to receive numerous citizen complaints that A & W Drive-In Restaurant employees
are utilizing nearby on-street parking for the duration of their work shifts and causing traffic problems within
adjacent neighborhoods. As you will recall, you were originally issued a letter concerning this issue on May
20, 2008.
The purpose of this letter is to strongly encourage all employee parking to occur off-street within the
property's boundaries in order to retain the neighborhood's peace, safety and general welfare. It is the intent
of the off-street parking requirements set forth in the Zoning Ordinance to protect nearby residential
neighborhoods from increased traffic associated with commercial operations.
During deliberation of the conditional use permit for the restaurant development there was no discussion of
the use of on-street parking for the employees. If this issue had come up at the time it would have been a
cause of concern for its potential negative impacts on the adjacent neighborhood.
Please contact Planning Services Director Darryn Burich or myself at 920-236-5059 to discuss what your
long-term plan is for employee parking.
Res~pect~fully,
