Dear Mr. Frey:
Please find enclosed copies of a Violation/Correction Notice sent to you on September 25, 1990. The
Notice identified a violation of Section 30-5(B)(1) of the City of Oshkosh Zoning Ordinance which
requires a building permit prior to the use of a site for parking. At that time you did not obtain the
required permits and you placed railroad ties at the entrance way in an attempt to discourage parking
on the lot.
Obviously, the railroad ties did not work. On May 13, 1996, I performed another on-site inspection of
the above referenced location. It was found that the site continues to be illegally utilized for a parking
lot without the required permits and continues to be in violation of Section 30-5(B)(1) of the City of
Oshkosh Zoning Ordinance. Also, signage has been placed, without permits, on the side of the adjacent
building indicating customer parking available on the site in question.
Please be advised that parking was not allowed without permits at the time of the original
Violation/Correction Notice and is not allowed today without the issuance of the appropriate permits.
Consequently, the parking lot use must be discontinued IMMEDIATELY or the appropriate permits
issued for a parking lot. You are also required to obtain the required building permits for the signage
placed on the side of the adjacent building or immediately remove the sign(s).
If the parking lot use is not immediately discontinued and the wall signs immediately removed, or
unless you have obtained the required permits for the noted activities/items, citations will be issued for
this violation and the matter be turned over to the City Attorney's Office for appropriate legal action to
gain compliance with the Zoning Ordinance.
