The submittal has been CONDITIONALLY APPROVED. The owner, as defined in Chapter 101.01(10), Wisconsin Statutes, is responsible for compliance with all code requirements Key Item(s) /Conditions: IMC 302.1 The building or structure shall not be weakened by the installation of mechanical systems. Verify that existing structure is capable of supporting the additional weight of the proposed roof top equipment. IMC 304.9 Guards. Guards shall be provided where appliances, equipment, fans or other components that require service are located within 10 feet (3048 mm) of a roof edge or open side of a walking surface and such edge or open side is located more than 30 inches (762 mm) above the floor, roof or grade below. The guard shall extend not less than 30 inches (762 mm) beyond each end of such appliance, equipment, fan or component and the top of the guard shall be located not less than 42 inches (1067 mm) above the elevated surface adjacent to the guard. The guard shall be constructed so as to prevent the passage of a 21-inch- diameter (533 mm) sphere and shall comply with the loading requirements for guards specified in the International Building Code. Provide detailed information showing compliance with this section. IMC 306.5 Equipment and appliances on roofs or elevated structures. Where equipment and appliances requiring access are installed on roofs or elevated structures at a height exceeding 16 feet (4877 mm), such access shall be provided by a permanent approved means of access, the extent of which shall be from grade or floor level to the equipment and appliances' level service space. Such access shall not require climbing over obstructions greater than 30 inches (762 mm) high or walking on roofs having a slope greater than 4 units vertical in 12 units horizontal (33-percent slope). Sufficient access and working space shall be provided and maintained about all electric equipment to permit ready and safe operation and maintenance of such equipment. Verify that the appropriate clearances required by this section are being maintained • Comm 61.31(4) Revisions to approved plans. All proposed revisions and modifications which involve rules under this code and which are made to construction documents that have previously been granted approval by the department or its authorized representative, shall be submitted to the office that granted the approval. All revisions and modifications to plans shall be approved in writing by the department or its authorized representative prior to the work involved in the revision or modification being carried out. A revision or modification to a plan, drawing or specification shall be signed and sealed in accordance with Comm 61.31(1). • MUN 30-35 (I)(5) All roof top and ground level mechanical equipment and utilities shall be screened as required by the planning department. Prior to permit issuance approval is required from the planning department SUBMIT: • IMC 403.3.4 Balancing. Ventilation systems shall be balanced by an approved method. Such balancing shall verify that the ventilation system is capable of supplying the airflow rates required by Section 403. Balancing report required to be submitted prior to final occupancy being allowed ~ Comm 61.40 (4) Supervision. Prior to the initial occupancy of a new building or addition and prior to the fmal occupancy of an alteration of an existing building the supervising professional shall file a compliance statement form SBD-9720 with this office. A copy of the approved plans, specifications, and this letter shall be on-site during construction. All permits are required to be obtained prior to commencement of work. In granting this approval the City of Oshkosh Inspection Services Department reserves the right to require changes or additions should conditions arise making them necessary for code compliance. As per state stats 101.12(2), nothing in this review shall relieve the designer of the responsibility for designing a safe building, structure, or component.
