Dear Mr. Heise:
On August 10, 1982 I inspected portions of your property known as
142-146 Josslyn Street, Oshkosh, Wisconsin, following a complaint of
presence of mice and spider and other housing problems. In my inspection
I found that your manager appears to be dealing with the mice and spider
problem adequately at present. However, other items which are violations
of Oshkosh Municipal Code requirements should receive your attention.
1. Cracks in beams and gaps where beams meet exterior walls
are open to the exterior and allow drafts (and even snow,
according to one tenant) to enter the dwelling. These
shall be properly sealed.
2. A roof leak around the west end of the building has cause
damage to interior wall surfaces. The leak shall be
properly repaired and the wall surfaces properly repaired
and refinished.
3. One tenant reported that there are openings in exterior
surfaces which allow admittance for birds, who build
nests in the structure. Any such openings shall be properly
sealed.
These items shall be corrected by September 10, 1982. Feel free to
call me at 424-0375 if you have any questions or comments.
Very truly yours,
Richard R. Mattheis
Housing Inspector
