SUBJECT: U.W.O. Parking Project - 84U John
Last Friday, the City Housing Inspector notified me that he had
found housing code violations at 840 when he had inspected as a
result of a tenant complaint. The main problem appears to be the
fact that the structure was not converted from a single family to
a duplex in a code compliant manner. The Inspector indicated that
he wanted some direction as the property was one of those
identified to be taken for the U.W.O. Parking Project.
Today, I discussed the situation with Jackson and he indicated that
the Inspector should go ahead with orders on this structure. As
Jackson asked, I also called Tom Herzing at the University to
inform him of the situation so he could approach the owner to give
the owner the opportunity to sell before havinq_ to incur the
expense of correcting the building code problems.
