Oshkosh Committee on Aging Minutes
November 3, 2005
Attendance
: Corky Abraham; Claude Bennedict; Dr. Jean Caudle; Kristin
Cimera; Ann Jungwirth; Jerry Konrad; Kara Klein and Joan Rogers. Excused
members included: Donna Altepeter; Don Kutchera and Ernie Kandler. Special
guest was Donna Lohry. Staff members present were Sue Kreibich, Aging
Services Manager and Bobbie Luft, Office Assistant.
Corky Abraham called the meeting to order at 8:00 a.m. M/S/C, (Konrad;
Bennedict) approval of agenda and minutes.
Aging Services Manager:
Sue Kreibich announced that Mark Huddleston from
Transit realizes the need and importance there is for senior transportation. The
Committee felt that the age for Dial-a-ride should remain the same or change
from 60 to 62. To justify the loss of wages after going on Social Security. Many
referred to the Cab Company as being rude and having to wait for a very long
time.

Kristin Cimera announced that the Board is moving along
with the strategic planning.

Ann Jungwirth announced that everyone should have received the
“Qualified Insurance Coverage letter”. This letter is to inform one if the insurance
they have will be approved, so a penalty will not be applied for those who apply
for Medicare Part D after the deadline.
Winnebago County Commission on Aging:
Dr. Caudle stated that the
Commission is interested in transportation and the meal-sites. As of November

23 6,283 seniors have heard the presentation about the Medicare Part D. Out
of that number 381 have completed the form to sign up. Benefit Specialists are
receiving 45-60 calls on a daily basis. Dr. Caudle passed out a sheet from the
Benefit Specialist that were given to the Commission members.
