DIRECTORS REPORT
Mrs. Kreibich discussed the new MySeniorCenter program, training and when the system would
be up and running. She asked if any Board members wanted to be included in the training that
would take place over the phone. Mr. Nielsen, Mr. Benedict, and Mr. Vandenberg stated they
would like to be included in the training. Mrs. Kreibich stated notices would be sent out
regarding the date and time.
Mrs. Kreibich reported the Center participant computer program will not accept further
donations until the volunteers are able to deal with the overabundance of equipment in their
possession.
Mrs. Kreibich reported that 74 applications have been received for the Director of Senior
Services position and have been narrowed down to 6 candidates, with some having senior center
experience. She stated she would be involved in the interview process and that the City is hoping
to have a new Director in place around April 15.
Mr. Benedict questioned the cold storage renovation. Mrs. Kreibich gave an overview of the
planning process.
Mrs. Kreibich handed out a Center Users Report for 2006 at this time and noted that 3974
unduplicated people utilized the Center in 2006, with 894 of those being non-residents. She
noted that participation at the Fox Fitness Center is increasing and the average user age is lower
than in past years. She also shared that work is being done to enhance customer service at the
Main Facility.
Oshkosh Senior Center Board Meeting - 1 - February 26, 2007
Discussion continued regarding the piano concert held in February and the new piano that was a
result of that event.
The Dial-a-Ride program was discussed as well as the free bus service to and from the Center.
Mrs. Kreibich also reported that the Senior Connections position provided 23 hours a week in
2006 and will be 16 hours a week for 2007. She stated the Center would receive a check each
month to make up the difference.
COMMITTEE REPORTS
Co-chair Ms. Luepke reported that the Program Committee met to review current programs and
also reported that Ginny Rice has stated that although participation at the dances has been down
she is working on getting that back on track with bringing back popular bands.
Ms. Stegemann reported the Publicity Committee should be meeting again soon. Ms. Anand
added they have met as needed.
Discussion followed regarding the newsletter with overall positive comments. Corrections were
noted for the next issue.
OLD BUSINESS
President Nielsen suggested holding the discussion of the committee structure, purpose and
composition at the next meeting as time was getting short today.
NEW BUSINESS
President Nielsen questioned whose term would be up this year on the Board. It appeared one
member would already have served their second term and 6 others had the option for renewal.
Mrs. Kreibich instructed the Board members to consider asking for renewal and that this needs to
be discussed at the next meeting with renewal appointments in June.
There being no further business the meeting was adjourned at 2:15 p.m. (Toni Anand/Claude
Benedict). Unanimous.
Respectfully Submitted,
Vickie L. Rand
