HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes Board of Directors of the Oshkosh Seniors Center Meeting Minutes- Monday March 28, 2005 Attendance : Board members: Bill McCarthy; Jesse Fillmore; Mary Luepke; Phyllis Hill; Ralph Nielsen; Judy Troudt; Jerry Kratsch; Roger Westphal; Barb Ruedinger; Ginny Rice; Esther Stegemann. Excused members included: Ellen Hofeldt and Leon Thompson. Staff Members included Sue Kreibich, Aging Services Manager and Bobbie Luft, Center Office Assistant. President Bill McCarthy called the meeting to order at 1:00 p.m. Minutes & Agenda accepted. REPORTS: th Aging Services Manager , Sue Kreibich passed out information regarding the 30 Anniversary. This anniversary committee will be meeting this coming Friday at 1:00 p.m. Facilities/Maintenance: Jesse Fillmore has been hearing complaints about the water fountain at the Main Facility, and the tearing of the wallpaper in the bathrooms. Friends Barbara Ruedinger, President of the Friends of the Oshkosh Seniors Center, announced that volunteers have been found to take the place of Doris Nordhaus for the Saturday bingo. Bingo will be taking a break after April and will resume again in September. June 12 will be the Strawberry Festival held at South Park. Programs: Ginny Rice reported that the March 11 dance had 44 attendees. There was a snow storm that night, the band was late because two of the members had gone into the ditch and had to find another way to the Annex. The St. Patricks Dinner meal received many complaints. The food was prepared by Festival. Taste of Towne will be held April 26. Channel 10, CitiCable Access is giving us $12,000 of free publicity. Publicity: Esther Stegemann reported that Linda Verwiel, marketing coordinator will be going to Green Bay to visit the television stations. She will request to have more of the Center’s information displayed. Linda is also working on developing a chart for re accreditation on how the Center does its marketing. Linda has been working a lot with surveys to better help serve the participants needs. st New Business: 1 Reading of the Constitution; Mary Luepke read aloud the changes in the constitution to the board members. Roger Westphal moved and Ralph Nielsen seconded and the st motion was carried to accept the changes that are underlined and read for the 1 reading of the constitution. CWAG Renewal: Roger Westphal moved, Roger Nielsen seconded and the motion was carried not to rejoin CWAG. Announcements: Jerry passed out a list for the election of new board members. There will be three full term members to be replaced and one for the balance of a two-year term. Bill McCarthy and Ralph Nielsen stated that they would be willing to continue in their officer positions. Sue was asked to have more background on the Board nominees for the next meeting.
