Box 1130 Oshkosh, WI 54903-1130 ATTN: Brian Noe RE: 819 John Avenue Dear Mr. Noe, AEC staff has reviewed the footing as installed (supporting masonry pier, built-up column, and steel beam) and found it to be adequate. The original design assumed a concrete Compressive strength of 3000 psi and a presumptive soil bearing capacity of 3000 psf (standard for day) with no reinfordng. Upon inspection of the footing, it appears to be placed on adequate soils, and was cast with 5000 psi concrete, which well excseds the assumed capaaty. Following are the selected connections that were previously discussed in the telephone conversation yesterday. Please feel free to Call if you have Gray additional questions. Thghk you. Determine the total load and live load on the joist in pounds per lineal foot (plf). 2 l_oc,ate under JOIST CLEAR SPAN a span that meets or exceeds the required joist span. 3. Scan right across the row until you find a cell where both the maximum TOTAL LOAD value and the maximum LIVE LOAD value meet or exceed the required loads. In cells where LIVE LOAD is not listed, TOTAL LOAD will control. 4. The series and depth of the appropriate TJl~joist is shown at the top of the column in which the cell is located.
