Wisconsin Avenue Appleton, Wisconsin 54911 Qentlemen: Factory and warehouse buildings #4, 46, 5, 6 and 7, Mt. Vernon ~ Custer Streets, Oshkosh, Winnebago Co. Victrylite Candle Company Plan File 67-E-6 This is in reply to your letter of May 4, 1867 in which you request that the above buildings be classified as one story mill constructed buildings. Based on the information given in your letter all of the buildings except building #7, which has a one inch thick wood roof, meet present code requirements for mill construction. The general orders on existing buildings, which apply to buildings built prior to 1915, do not specify the thickness of a wood roof for mill construction. Therefore, if building #7 was built before 1915 it too can be classified as mill constructed. On this basis, approval is given to classify the above buildings as mill constructed buildings.
