HomeMy WebLinkAbout08-35JANUARY 22, 2008 08 -35 FIRST READING (CARRIED LOST LAID OVER PURPOSE: TRAFFIC REGULATIONS INITIATED BY: TRANSPORTATION DEPARTMENT ORDINANCE WITHDRAWN ) A GENERAL ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF OSHKOSH AMENDING SECTIONS 27 -7 (A- 7), 27- 8(B- 3)(B -5), 27 -17, AND 27 -23 (A -11) OF THE OSHKOSH MUNICIPAL CODE PERTAINING TO TRAFFIC SIGNALS, SPEED LIMITS, LEAVING NON - OPERATING VEHICLES ON STREET AND PARKING REGULATIONS ON DESIGNATED STREETS AND ALLEYS. The Common Council of the City of Oshkosh do ordain as follows: SECTION 1. That Section 27 -7 (A -7) of the Oshkosh Municipal Code pertaining to traffic signals is hereby amended as follows: A -7 TRAFFIC SIGNAL CONTROLLED INTERSECTIONS Add Thereto: Washburn Street and Westowne Avenue. SECTION 2. That Section 27- 8(B -3), (B -5) of the Oshkosh Municipal Code pertaining to speed limits is hereby amended as follows: B -3 THIRTY -FIVE (35) MILES PER HOUR Delete Therefrom Washburn Street from Dickinson Avenue to Waukau Avenue. Add Thereto Washburn Street from Dickinson Avenue to 0.3 miles south of Waukau Avenue. B -5 FORTY -FIVE (45) MILES PER HOUR Delete Therefrom Washburn Street from Waukau Avenue to Fisk Avenue. Add Thereto Washburn Street from 0.3 miles south of Waukau Avenue to Fisk Avenue. SECTION 3. That Section 27 -17 of the Oshkosh Municipal Code pertaining to leaving non - operating vehicles on the street is hereby amended as follows: JANUARY 22, 2008 FIRST READING 08 -35 ORDINANCE CONT'D Delete Therefrom No person shall leave any partially dismantled, wrecked, junked or unregistered vehicle, any vehicle unable to move under its own power, or any vehicle not able to be used legally on any public street in accordance with the provisions of Chapters 347 and 348 of the Wisconsin Statutes and /or Trans 305 of the Wisconsin Administrative Code, on any street or highway within the City. Add Thereto No person shall leave any partially dismantled, wrecked, junked or unregistered vehicle, any vehicle unable to move under its own power, or any vehicle not able to be used legally on any public street in accordance with the provisions of Chapters 347 and 348 of the Wisconsin Statutes and /or Trans 305 of the Wisconsin Administrative Code, on any street, highway or municipally owned off - street parking area within the City. SECTION 4. That Section 27 -23 (A -11) of the Oshkosh Municipal Code pertaining to parking regulations on designated streets and alleys is hereby amended as follows: A -11 PARKING REGULATIONS ON DESIGNATED STREETS AND ALLEYS DIVISION STREET Delete Therefrom 4 -hour parking, east side, from 107 feet north of Algoma Boulevard to Church Avenue between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. daily except on Sundays and New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. Delete Therefrom No parking, east side, from 107 feet north of Algoma Boulevard to 194 feet south of Church Avenue. Add Thereto 4 -hour parking, east side, from 107 feet north of Algoma Boulevard to 50 feet south of Church Avenue between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. daily except on Sundays and New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. JANUARY 22, 2008 08 -35 ORDINANCE FIRST READING CONT'D SOUTHLAND AVENUE Delete Therfrom No parking, north side, from Sullivan Street to Westfield Street from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on schooldays. Add Thereto No parking, north side, from Sullivan Street to 40 feet west of Westfield Street from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on school days. WESTFIELD STREET Add Thereto 15 AVENUE Delete Therefrom Add Thereto No parking, east side, from 199 feet south of Skyview Avenue to 240 feet south of Skyview Avenue. No parking, north side, from Nebraska Street to Oregon Street. No parking, north side, from Oregon Street to 144 feet east of Oregon Street. SECTION 5. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, publication, and placement of the appropriate signage.
