IVIENT OF .nv OEVELOPMENT S[ .~ \fICES DIVISION December 6, 2007 Mr. Allyn Dannhoff, I realize you hear lots of complaints from neighbors, concerned citizens, etc. I am another neighbor complaining, so I apologize up front for having to add to your list of problems. The problem I would like someone to look into is located at 737 N. Main Street. The Owner has been "remodeling" for almost four years and the property seems to be getting far worse that before he started the project. We have to look at the property daily and we feel that it is bringing down our property values, as well as creating an eye sore for anyone that comes to visit. The problems that we see are the missing windows, broken front steps with a metal patch to cover the hole (plus no railing), exterior paint in very poor condition, the first floor has been ripped apart with piles of wood all over the place and in front of windows causing a real fire hazard in my eyes. This property was not maintained all summer but thanks to the snow it now appears much better. I have not seen one building permit for all the work that is being done nor have we seen one inspector there to verify that the work being done correctly. This property is a duplex with a tenant living upstairs. I thought that there were certain things on a rental property that had to be completed by a licensed professional, ie: electrical and plumbing work, we never see any work performed by anyone except the owner. Sorry this letter got so long. We just want the property to be looked at, so someone will make the owner maintain the property as he should. Thank you, Concerned Neighbor of737 N.
