Subject: RE: Siding Installation With the melting I see it wouldn't be the siding it would be extreme heat applied after manufacture, since I am sure it did not look like this when installed, the heat must have come after installation, if it is not fire then reflected light would be most likely. Be careful ruling out fire, we had a case once, where the neighborhood kids were playing with butane and melted a huge area of wall, the homeowner never would have figured it out if his next door neighbor hadn't seen it happen Mark -----Original Message----- From: Krahn, Nicole R. This house is located in a residential neighborhood in town so there was definitely no fire. Is there a possibility that there could have been a bad batch of siding? Thanks Again- Nicole Krahn -----Original Message----- From: Mark Hennessy [mailto:Mark.Hennessy@kpproducts.com] Sent: Wednesday, November 07, 2007 2:34 PM To: Krahn, Nicole R. Subject: RE: Siding Installation From the look of the pictures I would say either reflected light or a high heat source of some kind. Even very bad installation wouldn't cause the melting shown in the pictures. Was there ever a grass fire or a bon fire at that side of the house? We had a similar claim a few years back, and the only way we figured it out was that one of the pictures submitted happened to show the burnt grass. I'm not sure if this damage is from improper installation, the sun, or a combination of the both of them. Please let me know what you think. 11/8/2007 I :.,. .'
