The submittal described above has been reviewed for conformance with applicable Wisconsin Administrative Codes and
Wisconsin Statutes. The submittal has been CONDITIONALLY APPROVED. The owner, as defmed in Chapter
101.01(10), Wisconsin Statutes, is responsible for compliance with all code requirements

. NOTE: This plan review does not include the alternate pre-engineered canopy. If a pre-engineered
canopy is to be used, revised plans are required to be submitted.
. NOTE: During this review the following drawing sheets have been revised: A5.1, A5.2, 82.0, 84.1, 84.0,
84.2, 85.0 - Please make sure that drawing in the filed reflect these changes.
. 1604.4 Analysis. Any system or method of construction to be used shall be based on a rational analysis in
accordance with well-established principles of mechanics. Such analysis shall result in a system that
provides a complete load path capable of transferring loads from their point of origin to the load-resisting
elements. Revised sheet S5.0 Right Side Framing Elevation shows header supporting point load from
beam being supported on single shoulder studs. Verify that bearing capacity is adequate for the loads
to transfer properly.
. IBe 2406.2 Glazing in an individual fixed or operable panel adjacent to a door where the nearest exposed
edge of the glazing is within a 24 inch arc of either vertical edge of the door in a closed position and where
the bottom exposed edge of the glazing is less than 60 inches above the walking surface is requires safety
glazing materials. Verify that glass adjacent to doors as shown on Sheet Al. 0 meets these requirements.

. IBC 2603 This chapter governs the use of foam plastic insulation within buildings and structures. No
construction details were provided for the walk in cooler. VerifY that cooler construction will comply
with the provisions of this chapter.
. 2603.4.1.5 Roofing. Foam plastic insulation under a roof assembly or roof covering that is installed in
accordance with the code and the manufacturer's installation instructions shall be separated from the
interior of the building by wood structural panel sheathing not less than 0.47 inch (11.9 mm) in thickness
bonded with exterior glue, with edees supported bv blockine, tongue-and-groove joints or other
approved type of edge support, or an equivalent material. A thermal barrier is not required for foam plastic
insulation that is a part of a Class A, B or C roof-covering assembly, provided the assembly with the foam
plastic insulation satisfactorily passes FM 4450 or UL 1256. Since no thermal barrier is being provided,
verifY that all edges of roof sheathing are properly blocked as required by this section.
. IMC 304.9 Guards. Guards shall be provided where appliances, equipment, fans or other components that
require service are located within 10 feet (3048 mm) of a roof edge or open side of a walking surface and
such edge or open side is located more than 30 inches (762 mm) above the floor, roof or grade below. The
guard shall extend not less than 30 inches (762 mm) beyond each end of such appliance, equipment, fan or
component and the top of the guard shall be located not less than 42 inches (1067 mm) above the elevated
surface adjacent to the guard. The guard shall be constructed so as to prevent the passage of a 21-inch-
diameter (533 mm) sphere and shall comply with the loading requirements for guards specified in the
International Building Code. Provide detailed information showing compliance with this section for
equipment located on cooler.
. IMC 306.5 Equipment and appliances on roofs or elevated structures. Where equipment and
appliances requiring access are installed on roofs or elevated structures at a height exceeding 16 feet (4877
mm), such access shall be provided by a permanent approved means of access, the extent of which shall be
from grade or floor level to the equipment and appliances' level service space. Such access shall not
require climbing over obstructions greater than 30 inches (762 mm) high or walking on roofs having a
slope greater than 4 units vertical in 12 units horizontal (33-percent slope). Plans only show ladder from
lower roof to upper roof, this section requires a permanent ladder from grade to the level of equipment.
· NEC 110.26 Spaces About Electrical Equipment. Sufficient access and working space shall be
provided and maintained about all electric equipment to permit ready and safe operation and maintenance
of such equipment. Verify that the appropriate clearances required by this section are being maintained
- Caution on Condenser units on top of cooler.
. IMC 506.3.13.3 Termination location. Exhaust outlets shall be located not less than 10 feet (3048 mm)
horizontally from parts of the same or contiguous buildings, adjacent property lines and air intake openings
into any building and shall be located not less than 10 feet (3048 mm) above the adjoining grade level.
. IMC 509.1 An approved automatic fire suppression system complying with the mc and IFC is required
for this hood installation.
· IBC 904.11.2 System Interconnection The Interconnection of the fire suppression system shall
automatically shut down the fuel or electrical power supply to the cooking equipment. The fuel and
electrical supply reset shall be manual.
. IECC 503.3.3.7 [Comm 63.0503(2)(f)] Balancing and documentation of the HV AC system shall conform
to the IMC. Balancing report required to be submitted prior to final occupancy being allowed.
· IBC 1l01.2/ANSI A1l7.1-308.2 & 3 - Mechanical system controls shall be located a maximum of 48"
above the finished floor if the floor space allows a forward approach by a wheel chair or if the clear space
allows a parallel approach.

. Comm 5.34 No person may perform structural welding unless the person holds a registration issued by
. Department of Commerce. Provide welders registration numbers for all people doing welding on this
project.
. Comm 61.30(3) This review does not include Truss components. Submit, prior to installation one set
of properly signed and sealed truss plans, and completed SBD-118 application form with fees.
. Comm 61.31(4) Revisions to approved plans. All proposed revisions and modifications which involve
rules under this code and which are made to construction documents that have previously been granted
approval by the department or its authorized representative, shall be submitted to the office that granted the
approval. All revisions and modifications to plans shall be approved in writing by the department or its
authorized representative prior to the work involved in the revision or modification being carried out. A
revision or modification to a plan, drawing or specification shall be signed and sealed in accordance with
Comm 61.31(1).
SUBMIT:
. IECC 503.3.3.7 [Comm 63.0503(2)(t)] Balancing and documentation ofthe HV AC system shall conform
to the IMC. Balancing report require4 fo be submitted prior to final occupancy being allowed.
. Comm 61.50 (4) Supervision. Prior to the initial occupancy of an alteration the supervising professional
shall file a compliance statement form SBD-9720 with this office.
A copy of the approved plans, specifications, and this letter shall be on-site during construction. All permits are required to
be obtained prior to commencement of work.
In granting this approval the City of Oshkosh Inspection Services Department reserves the right to require.changes or
additions should conditions arise making them necessary for code compliance. As per state stats 101.12(2), nothing in this
review shall relieve the designer of the responsibility for designing a safe building, structure, or component.
