HomeMy WebLinkAboutLetter - 8/4/1998 Auglist4;'1998 ON THE WATER Charles A Kohls 6670 Weelaunee Dr Pickett WI 54964 Dear Mr Kohls: This morning you contacted me with regards to 656 Mt Vernon St., a three family dwelling you own which is currently under orders from this office. The conversation dealt with the due date of July 30, 1998 for all violations. Soon after the phone call and reviewing the file I realized the reason for the single due date. You have received notice in writing concerning similar violations occurring on a numbei;of your rental properties. This notice was to make you aware that correction time limits would be shortened or citations issued immediately for similar violations on rental dwellings that have been found previously elsewhere. It is your responsibility to assure that all your properties are Code compliant, not ours. Self inspections should be determining if your rental dwellings and premises are in compliance with Minimum Housing & Property Maintenance Codes. You should not be waiting to be ordered to make corrections. I will accept a written schedule for repairs with due dates on 656 Mt Vernon St. as indicated on the phone. We will review the schedule and if reasonable approve it. I recommend that you inspect all your rental properties in the City of Oshkosh for Code compliance. Any future violations which have been ordered corrected in the past and not caused by the tenants are subject to Immediate Citation issuance. Your confusion as to what is required to comply concerns me. Apparently you are not reading the correction notices carefully. Sincerely, \ l,J<" . i!+>-.!,:; ~<_:~;'f:' f ; (~ Bruce Luedtke Housing Inspector
