Our office has not received a written or verbal request for an extension to your permit. The extension would have been required to be submitted 90 days prior to the expiration of the building permit. We have also received a neighborhood complaint stating you have been occupying this residence without occupancy approval. It should be noted that this property is still posted "Unfit for Human Habitation" and occupancy is not allowed. . Numerous violations still exist and complaints have heen received due to the exterior of the property. The outstanding orders include: 1. The front porch roof must be repaired. The rearroofhas been does not meet mininium code requirements. The roof pitch is less than 4/12 and requires rolled roofing or a robber roof. ORIGINAL ORDER ISSUED 10/20/98 2. The water heater must be approved for confIned spaces and the appropriate combustion air is required. ORIGINAL ORDER ISSUED 10/20/98 3. Heat distribution systems shall be sized and lo<;:ated to satisfy the heating and cooling loads of each conditioned space. ORIGINAL. ORDER ISSUED 1/12/99 4. Vented wall furnaces shall be provided with combustion air and can not.be used to heat the whole house. ORIGINAL ORDER ~SSUED 1/12/99 5. The attic must be vented. At least 50% of the J;let free ventilating area shall be distributed at the low sides ofthe roof. ORIG~NAL ORDER ISSUED 1/12/99 6. The crawlspace is required to be vented properly. Treated plywood must be a minimum of8" from grade: ORIGINAL ORDER ISSUED 3/18/99 Additional violations may be noted once the final inspection is requested and conducted. At this time citations are enclosed for failing to request thetinal inspection and gain compliance prior to occupying the residence. A Raze or Repair Notice will follow this letter. A written statement will be required stating whether .,. you plan on razing or repairing the structure. If you wish to have us consider allowing you to continue repairing this structure an inspection will be required to determine what additional violations exist. In addition to the inspection we will need a qetailed list of items that need to be finished and time frames for repairing the violations. Once our office receives this information we can make a determination as to whether to extend your building permit. Compliance would need to be secured in timely maimer due to the original orders being issued on October 28, 1998. Please note continued occupancy of this structure violates section 7-31 and 7-32 of the Municipal Code and will constitute daily citations.
