The owner of this property gutted this house during .the summer of 1998 with no building permit. At this time
the house was vacant .and a correction notice was issued for remodelit;lg with no building permit. Mr. Anderson
obtained the required permit on 10/23/98 with the condition that the 1)ouse remains vacant unt~l final approval

Numerous violations still exist and neighborhood complaints have been filed due to the exterior of the property.
Outstanding orders include:

1) The front porch roof must be repaired. The rear roof has been replaced but does not
meet minimum code requirements. The ~ofpitch is less than 4/12 and requires
rolled roofing or a rubber roof. ORDER I&SUED 10/20/98 .
2) The water heater must be approved for confined spaces and the appropriate
combustion air is required. ORDER ISSUED 10/20/98
3) Heat distribution systems shall be sized and located to satisfY the heating and cooling
loads of each conditioned space. ORDER ISSUED 1/12/99
4) Vented wall furnaces shall be provided with combustion air and can not be used to
heat the whole house. ORDER ISSUED 1/12/99
5) The attic must be vented. At least 50% of the net free ventilating area shall be
distributed at the low sides ofthe roof. ORDER ISSUED 1/12/99

6) The crawlspace is required to be vented properly. Treated plywood must be a
minimum of 8" from grade. ORDER ISSUED 3/18/99

states that a building permit for residential structures shall lapse and be void after 12 months. If further
construction is necessary after one year, the permit holder shall make written application to Allyn Dannhoff,
stating the reasons for the request for an extension at least 90 days prior to the expiration of the building permit.
The owner has not requested an extension for this permit. Hopefully by issuing a Raze or Repair notice it will
provide us with an opportunity to secure compliance by repairing this structure or having it razed. The owner
will also have to provide our office with a detailed list of what still n~eds to be done and time frames for
repairing this structure.

This involves a house the owner started remodeling over 1 ~ years ago without permits.
Inspections revealed many code violations to be addressed, some as a result of remodeling,
some as a result of deterioration.
The owner was ordered to leave the house vacant until oc~upancy was approved. He ignored
this and occupied the house within the past year. However, he has not completed the project
nor has he made substantial or continued progress in repairing this house. The permit expired
in October and has not been renewed.
Weare issuing the Raze Order to expedite compliance either through repairs or by removing
the structure.

YOU ARE FURTHER NOTIFIED that this order is served upon you,
pursuant to the terms and provisions of Section 66.05 Subsections
(1), (2), (3), (4), (5), and (8) of the Wisconsin Statutes and in
such case made and provided. If you shall fail or refuse to comply
within the time prescribed in this notice, said building shall be
razed and removed by the City of Oshkosh; and the cost of such
razing and removal shall be charged against the property, shall be
a lien thereon, and shall be assessed and collected as a special
tax.

with this order to remove any personal property or fixtures in the
