The submittal described above has been reviewed for conformance with applicable Wisconsin Administrative Codes and
Wisconsin Statutes. The submittal has been CONDITIONALLY APPROVED. The owner, as defined in Chapter
101.01(10), Wisconsin Statutes, is responsible for compliance with all code requirements
Note: Per the Fax dated 8/28/07 the ABU66 post base will be grouted solid to provide the additional required bearing
capacity.
Key Item(s) / Conditions:
. IBC 1604.8.1 General. Anchorage of the TOOftO walls and columns, and of walls and columns to
foundations, shall be provided to resist the uplift and sliding forces that result from the application of the
prescribed loads. Truss plans for Girder Truss GT-1 indicate that uplift restraint of 860 pounds at
bearing point 1, and 1421 pounds at bearing point 7 is required to be provided. To date no information
has been provided showing how this will be provided. Proper connection details are required to meet
these loads and documentation for the connections used shall be available at the time of rough
inspection.
. IBC 2304.9.7 Framing requirements. Wood columns and posts shall be framed to provide full end
bearing. Alternatively, column-and-post end connections shall be designed to resist the full compressive
loads, neglecting end bearing capacity. Column and post end connections shall be fastened to resist lateral
and net induced uplift forces. Bearing requirements for Girder Truss GT-1 are shown in truss drawings
as requiring 7-1/16 inches at bearing point 1 - this is greater than the wall width. The girder truss
intersecting the column at an angle further complicates the bearing issue. Designer has been informed
of this issue, details of how this is corrected will be required at rough inspection. Either provide
required bearing or provide revised stamped truss drawing showing reduced bearing requirement.

. Comm 61.31(4) Revisions to approved plans. All proposed revisions and modifications which involve
rules under this code and which are made to construction documents that have previously been granted
approval by the department or its authorized representative, shall be submitted to the office that granted the
approval. All revisions and modifications to plans shall be approved in writing by the department or its
authorized representative prior to the work involved in the revision or modification being carried out. A
revision or modification to a plan, drawing or specification shall be signed and sealed in accordance with
Corom 61.31(1).
SUBMIT:
. Comm 61.50 (4) Supervision. Prior to the initial occupancy of an alteration the supervising professional
shall file a compliance statement form SBD-9720 with this office.
A copy of the approved plans, specifications, and this letter shall be on-site during construction. All permits are required to
be obtained prior to commencement of work.
In granting this approval the City of Oshkosh Inspection Services Department reserves the right to require changes or
additions should conditions arise making them necessary for code compliance. As per state stats 101.12(2), nothing in this
review shall relieve the designer of the responsibility for designing a safe building, structure, or component.
