This letter is confirming our telephone conver-
sation of November 7. 1966.
It 1s our understanding that you optaratea g,enta1
laboratory from your hOme at 1729 111ckorl street and
have been doing so .since prior to July l~, 1?65. Prior
to that date, a home occupation was allowed in a resi-
dential district. Your present zoning is a-18 Si:ngJe
Family Residence District and does not allow home
occupations.
A home occupation is defined as;
"Any ocoupation within a dwelling and incidental
theretoca.rried on by a member of the family residing
on the premises; provided that no p~rson not a resident
on the premises is employed, .no substantial amount of
stock in trade lskept or commodi t~essoldt .nO mechanical
equipment s.hallbe used. other than. Sl.mh as is p$rrniss-
able for purely domestic purposes, no advertising sign
1s displayed, a.nd there 1s no other exterior ind.ication
that the building ls being used for a.ny purpose other
than a dwelling." '
If no changes have been made ~lnce July 14, 1965.
which would not comply with the above definition, your
use may continue.. However, please be aclvised that this
use can not be extended nor changed to anothsl r home
occupation..
