The submittal described above has been reviewed for conformance with applicable Wisconsin Administrative Codes and
Wisconsin Statutes. The submittal has been CONDITIONALLY APPROVED. The owner, as defmed in Chapter
101.01(10), Wisconsin Statutes, is responsible for compliance with all code requirements
Key Item(s) / Conditions:
· IDC 711.3 Any penetrations offrre rated assemblies are required to be protected with a listed firestopping
system that matches the rating of the wall assembly being penetrated. Copies of the firestopping systems
are required to be provided at the time of inspection.
· IBC 907.2.10.1.2 Smoke alarms shall be installed and maintained in the following locations:
· On the ceiling or wall outside of each separate sleeping area in the immediate vicinity of
bedrooms.
· In each room used for sleeping purposes.
· In each story within a dwelling unit, including basements.
Plans submitted only show one detector - provide additional interconnected detectors to meetthe above
requirements.
· IBC 1009.1 Emergency Escape and Rescue Basements and sleeping rooms shall have at least one
exterior emergency escape and rescue opening. The Library room is not to approved to be used as a
sleeping room. Additionally if there is to be locking hardware installed on the Bedroom door, an
additional emergency escape and rescue window is required to he provided to be accessible to the
remaining portions of the hasement.
· IBC 1009.4 Operational Constraints Emergency escape and rescue openings shall be operational from
the inside of the room without the use of keys or tools.

· IBC 1009.5.1 Minimum Size The clear horizontal dimensions of the window well shall allow the
emergency escape and rescue opening to be fully opened and provide a minimum accessible net clear
opening of 9 sq ft with a minimum dimension of 36 inches.
· IBC 1009.5.2 Window well Ladders or Steps Window wells with a vertical depth of more than44 inches
shall be equipped with an approved permanently affixed ladder or steps. Ladders or rungs shallhave.ari
inside width of at least 12 inches, shall project at least 3 inches from the wall and shall be spaced not more
than 18 inches on center vertically for the full height of the window well. The ladder or steps shall not
encroach into the required dimensions of the window well by more than 6 inches. The ladder or steps shall
not be obstructed by the emergency escape and rescue opening.
· IBC 1202.4.1.2 Natural Ventilation Where openings below grade provide required natural ventilation,
the outside horizontal clear space measured perpendicular to the opening shall be one and one-half times
the depth of the opening. The depth of the opening shall be measured from the average adjoining ground
level to the bottom of the opening.
· IBC 1207.2 Minimum Ceiling Heights Occupiable spaces, habitable spaces and corridors shall have a
ceiling height of not less than 7 feet 6 inches. Bathrooms shall be permitted to have a ceiling height of 7
feet.
· Comm 61.30(3) IIMC 507.2 This plan review does not include heating, ventilation, or air
conditioning. HV AC plans are required to be submitted and approved prior to installation ofHV AC
equipment.
· Comm 61.31(4) Revisions to approved plans. All proposed revisions and modifications which involve
rules under this code and which are made to construction documents that have previously been granted
approval by the department or its authorized representative, shall be submitted to the office that granted the
approval. All revisions and modifications to plans shall be approved in writing by the department or its
authorized representative prior to the work involved in the revision or modification being carried out. A
revision or modification to a plan, drawing or specification shall be signed and sealed in accordance with
Comm 61.31(1).
SUBMIT:
· Comm 61.50 (4) Supervision. Prior to the initial occupancy of an alteration the supervising professional
shall file a compliance statement form SBD-9720 with this office.
A copy of the approved plans, specifications, and this letter shall be on-site during construction. All pertttits are required to
be obtained prior to commencement of work.
In granting this approval the City of Oshkosh Inspection Services Department reserves the right to require changes or
additions should conditions arise making them necessary for code compliance. As per state stats 101.12(2), nothing in this
review shall relieve the designer of the responsibility for designing a safe building, structure, or component.
