HomeMy WebLinkAbout07-212 JULY 24, 2007 07 -212 RESOLUTION (CARRIED LOST 0-7 LAID OVER WITHDRAWN PURPOSE: DETERMINATION OF NECESSITY TO ACQUIRE PROPERTY! 120 JACKSON STREET AND ADJACENT LOT INITIATED BY: CITY ADMINISTRATION PLAN COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: Approved 4-1-3 WHEREAS, the City of Oshkosh has approved of several redevelopment project plans for the continued improvement and redevelopment of the riverfront and downtown areas, and has implemented these plans with significant improvements to the downtown and riverfront area; and WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the citizens of the City of Oshkosh to acquire property to improve traffic circulation into and around the downtown, as well as improve pedestrian safety; and WHEREAS, the properties to be acquired are described as follows: Lot adiacent to 120 Jackson Street: Oshkosh Chamber, owner All of Lots 9 and 18 and that part of Lots 7,8, 16 and 17 lying northerly of a line running southeasterly from the northwest corner of Lot 17 to the most easterly corner of Lot 8 in Doc. No. 978627, Register of Deeds, all in Fletcher & Strong's Subdivision, 1 st Ward, City of Oshkosh, Winnebago County, Wisconsin. (tax #901-0191-0100) 120 Jackson Street: City of Oshkosh & Oshkosh Chamber, owners That part of Block 18 lying southerly of a line running southeasterly from the northwest corner of Lot 17 to the most easterly corner of Lot 8, Block 18, all in Fletcher and Strong's Subdivision, 1 st Ward, City of Oshkosh, Winnebago County, Wisconsin. (tax #901-0186-0000) NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Oshkosh that the Common Council certifies that in order for said purpose to be accomplished, it is necessary for the City to acquire the properties described above. It is further determined by the Common Council that acquisition of said properties is hereby determined necessary pursuant to the provisions of Section 32.05, Section 32.07, Section 66.1331 and Section 66.1105 of the Wisconsin Statutes.
