Home My WebLink About07-197 FIRST READING JULY 10,2007 07 -1 97 ORDINANCE (CARRIED LOST LAID OVER WITHDRAWN PURPOSE: BAN COTTONWOOD TREE PLANTING INITIATED BY: COUNCIL MEMBER DENNIS McHUGH A GENERAL ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF OSHKOSH CREATING SECTION 26- 14.1 PERTAINING TO COTTONWOOD TREES THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OSHKOSH DO ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That Section 26-14.1 of the Oshkosh Municipal Code pertaining to COTTONWOOD TREES is created to read as follows: Section 26-14.1 PLANTING OF COTTONWOD TREES PROHITIBITED No person shall plant, nor cause to be planted, the Eastern Cottonwood tree (Populus deltoides) on any private property in the City of Oshkosh, the new planting of such trees being declared a public nuisance. The abatement provisions of this Article shall apply. SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be effective upon passage and publication as provided by law.
